El Vicenç

In our Highlights section we recently shared our visit to El Vicenç as part of its soft launch back in June, so very early days as they were still gearing up for the summer season ahead. Even though it was not in full swing you could see this was a great hotel waiting to launch itself at the growing number of visitors to Mallorca who are seeking something extra special from their visit.

Once inside the hotel and up on the terrace you seem to find yourself blending effortlessly into the stunning landscape of Cala Molins. The crystal clear waters and the dramatic cliffs that play out in front of you remind us that this little bit of Mediterranean paradise has been delighting and inspiring visitors for many many years.

Designed by Rafael Balaguer you are treated to a sublimely private experience with day time poolside tranquility and in the evening a drink and dinner watching the changing colours across the Cala as the sun sets.

Rooms
We got to see a couple of the rooms on our visit including the Penthouse Pool, which has the most captivating views you can possibly imagine. They have an airy design with large windows and as you would expect for a five star hotel they are beautifully appointed and the views across Cala are simply breathtaking. Designed by Magnus Ehrland they use soothing earth tones that create a lovely light and airy Mediterranean vibe that are all about its natural setting.

Experiences

There is plenty to keep you entertained in the hotel including a beautiful wellness centre with top treatments and a heated pool. There’s even a state of the art cinema room and we are not talking just a TV on the wall… this will do Mr Bond very proud!

But for us, one of the big bonuses is the hotel includes a dining option in the North of the island by the Michelin star chef Santi Taura. Having experienced his culinary skills in Palma it is very exciting to have his creations on our doorstep. The Restaurant El Vicenç is on the fourth floor and it really makes the most of the natural setting. You can be assured of a menu that makes the most of the wonderful Mallorcan produce.

There is also the U Mayol Bistro on the ground floor which is for lunchtime dining. We have already been for a fantastic Sunday lunch and dinner is not far behind

Joan Lomas and his team run a very slick operation, you are extremely well looked after from the moment you enter the hotel… not just another anonymous guest that’s for sure. It doesn’t matter if you are staying or simply visiting they will make sure you remember El Vicenç for all the right reasons.
