Figs & Barrata
There are lots of recipes for using figs but this one really does create a beautiful marriage of flavours. It’s such an easy dish to pull together, especially if you can pick up these beautiful ingredients locally. How lucky are we that these figs are from our friends finca and the honey from the Binimaimo vineyard, all within a few minutes from where we live in Pollenca.
In our recipe we also added a drizzle or two of this delicious date and fig balsamic vinegar. We bought this from Georgs, a great little shop in Soller, where they have a large range of olive oil and flavoured balsamic vinegars… you get to taste before you buy them.
So this is our take on a recipe that you will find all over the internet but we’ve got that winning combination of Mallorcan produce. Enjoy this one while the fresh local figs are here.
• 4 ripe figs
• 1 tablespoon of runny honey
• 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar (nice and thick if you can)
• Thin slice of baguette (optional)
• 4 x 200g burrata cheese
• 1 teaspoon of olive oil
