La Merceria

We are very lucky to have some great independent restaurants in Pollenca with a passion to provide their guests with fantastic fresh local produce. Even in the very busy holiday season there is still a desire to provide people with a dining experience that makes you want to come back, even if it’s sadly the last day of your holiday!

On the Placa Mayor we have quite a few restaurants and nestled on the side of the square, near the Mon Boutique Hotel is a lovely place that is run by Silvia, Davide and Emanuele, originally from Italy. Davide heads up the kitchen whilst Silvia and her brother Davide take care of the hungry guests. They are a fantastic team and you are always greeted with a very warm welcome. It is a very popular place but they will always try and squeeze you in if it's a last minute booking… but probably best to book, especially in the busy summer months.

Their menu suits a range of tastes, drawing inspiration from Asia as well as closer to home. If you are a regular visitor you can get a bit of variety each time you go, so you can dart between flavours of the Far East, head over to Italy with beautiful homemade pasta and sauces or if you’re looking for a veg fix then their Pad Thai is delicious. So no worries if you’ve got a bunch of people on a table who fancy a bit of variety. For me though their range of burgers are the best in town.

Sundays are a special day in Pollença when one of the best markets comes to town…fresh local produce and a wonderful array of local artisan producers. Sometimes though you just need to sit and watch the market in full swing as people move around the many sellers… La Mercaria does great coffee and croissants that will ease you into your Sunday.

Come and enjoy that little bit of Italian flair tucked away in its beautiful Pollença setting.
