A spritz with a view
The weather has finally turned a corner and the slightly damp and grey days of May have given way to beautiful blue skies once again. Sunshine is never too far away here and when it comes the island bursts into life particularly around the beaches and calas. We are very lucky to have some of Mallorcas finest on our door step including our favourite spot which of course we never tell anyone, then tell everyone!
On Sunday we had taken our bundle of joy, Nero the effervescent cockerpoo, down to the bay for a little play on the pebbles…he is living his best life splashing in the water and we get to ponder life sitting on a rock…it’s better than it sounds!
After we had exhausted him, now there’s an assumption you should never make with a cockerpoo, we stopped at Swing, a really lovely spot with spectacular views across the bay. We just felt compelled to have a cheeky Aperol and a plate of very delicious patata bravas to tide us over, remarking how we must pop back soon for lunch or dinner.
You are spoilt for choice of places to go and soak up these amazing views. If it’s a special occasion then La Terrassa Restaurant at the Illa Dor hotel on the pine walk is a real gem. We recently spent a lovely couple of hours having lunch with my Dad and his partner Mary who were visiting us. It is such a stunning spot right on the waters edge and our Valencia paella was absolutely delicious.
We love sitting by the marina watching the beautiful local LLauts bobbing up and down in the water and there is no better spot than the terrace at La Llonja Restaurant. Surprising how a couple of hours passes after a days work enjoying a cold beer and tapas. If you want to spice it up then you are also next door to the yacht club and the fantastic cocktail bar Terraza 360 with its great views across the bay towards what everyone calls, ‘The Night Manager House'!
There really is something for everybody in this corner of the island and the view is something very special.
